This Fudge Brownie Tart is like an upscale hot fudge sundae and a rich dense brownie that got together in one scrumptious tart. It’s an amazing combination of all the chocolate goodness we love, plus it’s so easy to make!

I have made this fudge brownie tart for years, ever since I received it in the mail from Southern Living magazine. It’s so easy and is so impressive that it quickly became one of my favorites!

The rich brownie tart is fudgy on it’s own and becomes a decadent delight when covered with vanilla ice cream and hot chocolate fudge.

I like to serve this for the holidays, when everyone is ready for a break from the seasonal pumpkin desserts, if you know what I mean. Don’t you just want to take a bite??

  • Chocolate wafer crumbs
  • Butter
  • Melted butter
  • Brown sugar
  • Eggs
  • Chocolate chips
  • All purpose flour
  • Instant coffee granules
  • Vanilla extract

How to Make A Fudge Brownie Tart

This recipe is originally from Southern Living.

  1. Combine the crumbs and the melted butter and press into a 9 inch pie pan. Bake at 350 for 6 to 8 minutes.
  2. Beat the softened butter at medium speed until fluffy, then add brown sugar and beat well.
  3. Add eggs, one at a time and mix well.
  4. Stir in melted chocolate, flour, coffee and vanilla.
  5. Pour filling into prepared crust.
  6. Bake at 375 for 25 minutes, cool completely on wire rack.
  7. Garnish with ice cream and fudge if you feel like it. Otherwise enjoy it plain.

Tips & Variations

  • Add 1 cup of chopped pecans in the fudge brownie batter. (as per the original recipe) or sprinkle pecans on top.
  • Switch the vanilla ice cream for whipped cream.
  • Don’t overbake! This rich fudge brownie tart is supposed to be gooey inside.

Storage

WIthout the toppings, cover the brownie tart in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.

You can also freeze the brownie tart for up to one month if wrapped in plastic and stored in an airtight container.

  • ¾ cup brown sugar packed
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 cups of chocolate chips melted
  • ½ cup all purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons instant coffee granules
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Optional Garnishes:

  • ice cream
  • hot fudge
