Combine butter, chocolate, and 1 1/2 cups of chocolate chips in a saucepan.
Cook over low heat, stirring constantly until butter and chocolate are melted. LET COOL.
Combine flour, baking powder, and salt, set aside.
Beat eggs, sugar and vanilla on medium speed with and electric mixer.
Gradually add dry ingredients to the egg mixture.
Add the COOLED chocolate mixture and beat well.
Add chocolate chips and stir.
Scoop onto baking sheets 1 inch apart.
Bake at 350 for 10 minutes.
Cool slightly on the baking sheet, then remove to wire racks to cool.
