The best brownie ever is fudgy and gooey, elevated with rich, dark chocolate, pecans, and coconut. They’re nutty, with molten chocolate chips in every bite and a crispy crust. Totally scrumptious. If you like fudgy brownies, you’ll see why I say they’re the best brownies ever!

I make a lot of chocolate brownies and when I say a lot, I mean at least a pan a week of either a favorite recipe or a new one. This rich chocolate brownie recipe might just be the best one I have ever had and that is saying a lot.

If you like cakey brownies be aware that these turn out super chocolatey and fudgy, which makes them so high in my rating! You just can’t miss with rich chocolate and the nutty additions of pecans, coconut and chocolate chips.

Ingredients

  • Chocolate chips
  • Butter
  • Granulated sugar
  • Light brown sugar
  • Eggs
  • All purpose flour
  • Chopped pecans
  • Coconut flakes

How to Make The Best Brownies Ever

This recipe is from A Daily Dish of Everyday Life.

  1. Preheat oven to 325. Prepare a 9 inch square baking pan by lining with parchment paper and then spray with cooking spray. 
  2. In a medium saucepan melt 1 1/2 cups of chocolate chips and butter and whisk until smooth.
  3. Mix in brown sugar and granulated sugar and stir with a rubber spatula.
  4. Add eggs and mix and then fold in the flour.
  5. Fold in the coconut, pecans and remaining chocolate chips. Pour into prepared square pan
  6. Bake for 35-40 minutes or until a toothpick comes out almost clean. B
  7. Remove from oven place on cooling rack.
  8. Once cooled, cut and enjoy. 

Tips & Variations

  • Add more flavoring. You could add a bit of coconut extract to enhance the coconut flavor.
  • Change up the chips. Cut the add-in chocolate chips in half and make the rest white chocolate chips for a little bit of creamy white chocolate flavor and a two-toned look.
  • Frost them. Coat the brownies with your favorite dark chocolate fudge frosting for an extra decadent dessert.

Storage

These chocolate brownies will keep for about 3 days at room temperature if tightly wrapped and placed in an airtight container. You can refrigerate them for up to one week with the same coverings. They can be frozen for up to 3 months if wrapped tightly and then stored in a freezer-safe airtight container.

  • 6 ounces butter
  • 11/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 4 eggs lightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup coconut

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 325. Prepare a 9-inch square baking pan by lining with parchment paper and then spray with cooking spray.
  • In a medium saucepan melt 1½ cups of chocolate chips and butter and whisk until smooth.
  • Mix in brown sugar and granulated sugar and stir with a rubber spatula.
  • Add eggs and mix and then fold in the flour.
  • Fold in the coconut, pecans and remaining ½ cup of chocolate chips. Pour into prepared square pan.
