Hershey’s Chocolate Frosting is a classic chocolate frosting recipe using Hershey’s cocoa for a rich, fudgy, buttery topping on any dessert. This scrumptious frosting is great for icing cakes, cupcakes, brownies, cookies, cookie bars, and more!

This is my “go to” frosting, and I frost everything with it! Sometimes I just put a big dollop on a spoon for me to eat—just think of it as softened fudge! I promise you, you cannot go wrong with this frosting.

This icing will dress up any sweet treat, adding a rich chocolaty element that will enhance any simple or fancy dessert.

How to Make Hershey’s Chocolate Frosting

  1. Melt butter in large bowl.
  2. Whisk or use electric hand held mixer to blend in HERSHEY’S Cocoa.
  3. Add one cup of powdered sugar, and a little milk, alternating between the two until both are used up and the frosting is creamy.
  4. Add vanilla and blend.
  5. Then use to frost any treat you feel like.

Tips & Variations

  • Change the flavoring. Instead of vanilla extract, use mint, almond, orange, or your favorite extract for a different flavor.
  • Add espresso powder. Enhance the chocolate flavor with a little espresso powder added into the frosting.

Storage

This frosting can be stored in the fridge for about 4 days in an airtight container. Bring to room temperature before using again. You may need to add a splash of milk so the frosting is the right consistency for spreading.
