This sipping chocolate is one of my favorite easy recipes that I return to again and again. Its velvety smoothness is enhanced by both milk and cream and with bittersweet chocolate. It’s so delicious!

How to Make Sipping Chocolate

Recipe from Ann Bramley Eat Feed Autumn Winter

  1. Combine the milk, cream and sugar in a medium pan and bring to a simmer.
  2. Place the chocolate in a blender.
  3. Pour the hot milk over the chocolate and blend until smooth and frothy.

Tips & Variations

  • Change up the chocolate. Try semi-sweet or milk chocolate, or half white chocolate and half bittersweet.
  • Add some candy. Try adding crushed peppermint candies, Andes chocolate mint candies, etc.
  • Top it off. Whipped cream, marshmallows, crushed candies, and chocolate shavings can dress up your sipping chocolate.
  • Add your favorite liqueur. Bailey’s, Peppermint Schnapps, Kahlua, or spiced rum will add a warming kick.

Storage

It is best to drink this sipping chocolate as soon as it is ready or on the same day. You can also store any leftovers in the fridge and simply warm in a saucepan over medium low heat until piping hot.
