Christmas is just 4 days away, can you believe it?  Every time I think I am ready I think of something else that I want to do or make. I have to stop and just enjoy what is left of the season. 

I want to make a quick and easy dessert to give to a few friends and I decided to make the easiest tart ever. It is basically a Peppermint Oreo cookie crust with a ganache filling and then is topped with either crushed candy canes or peppermint bark. 

This decadent no bake chocolate peppermint tart looks like you spent all day cooking even though you won’t have to! Delicious peppermint Oreos make the 2-ingredient crust a breeze and pair perfectly with ganache, one of the creamiest, most delicious chocolate dessert fillings of all time.

  • Peppermint Oreo Cookies or Trader Joes’ Peppermint Cookies
  • Butter
  • Semi-sweet chocolate
  • 60% chocolate 
  • Heavy cream
  • Butter

How to Make a No Bake Peppermint Tart

  1. In a blender or food processor pulse the cookies until you have fine crumbs.
  2. Pour into a bowl and add the melted butter.
  3. Mix well, then pour into a 9″ tart pan and press up the sides and into the middle.
  4. Place into the refrigerator for 30 minutes. 
  5. Place the chopped chocolate into a medium heat proof bowl. I
  6. In a saucepan heat the milk and the butter to a low boil.
  7. Pour over the chocolate and let sit for a few minutes. Whisk until smooth and creamy, pour over the prepared crust. 
  8. You can leave it like this or add a garnish of chopped candy canes or chopped peppermint bark.
  9. Place tart into the refrigerator for at least 4 hours. 

Tips & Variations

  • Make individual tarts. Press crust ingredients into cupcake/tart tins and fill with ganache.
  • Switch out the candy. Instead of crushed peppermint on top, try chopped chocolate or white chocolate.
  • Replace the Oreos. Try making the crust with traditional graham crackers for a lighter option.

Storage

This tart will store in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.

  • 24 Peppermint Oreo Cookies or Trader Joes’ Peppermint Cookies
  • 6 Tablespoons of butter melted

For the filling:

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chopped
  • 1 cup 60% chocolate chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup butter cut into small pieces
