Chocolate Peanut Butter Marshmallow Treats

These Chocolate Peanut Butter Marshmallow Treats are a winning combination of Scotcheroos and Rice Krispie Treats, full of rich chocolate and peanut butter chips, marshmallows, more peanut butter, and rice cereal. Perfect for those times when you don’t want to turn on the oven and you need a super easy sweet treat.

 The weather is getting warm here and although I love to bake, sometimes I just don’t want to turn on the oven. Inevitably I make cereal treats, as they are easy and versatile without having to crank up the oven.

This recipe is a combination of Scotcheroos and Rice Krispie treats and they are delicious. They are the perfect treat to take to a barbecue or picnic or to just have on hand for hungry kids.

Ingredients

How to Make Chocolate Peanut Butter Marshmallow Treats

  1. In a small saucepan, combine the corn syrup and the sugar.
  2. Bring to a boil.
  3. Cook and stir for 1 minute.
  4. Remove from the hea.
  5. Stir in the peanut butter until melted.
  6. Stir in the vanilla.
  7. Fold in the cereal, marshmallows, and the chips.
  8. Stir until blended.
  9. Pour into a greased 8″ baking pan baking pan.
  10. Cool.
  11. Cut into squares and enjoy.

Tips & Variations

  • Switch out some chips. Try milk chocolate, white chocolate, or butterscotch chips.
  • Sub the cereal. Make with Special K, cocoa krispies, graham cereal, or your favorite.
  • Change the marshmallows. Use colored marshmallows or you can also swap for marshmallow fluff.

Storage

These treats can be stored in a covered container and kept in a cool place for up to 4 days.

  • ½ cup Karo Light Corn Syrup
  • ½ cup sugar
  • ¾ cup peanut butter
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 ½ cups Rice Krispies
  • ½ cup mini marshmallows
  • ½ cup Reese’s Peanut Butter Baking Chips
  • ½ cup semisweet chocolate chips
